"In my area farms are disappearing fast. Years ago, you could see a work horse plowing the field with the farmer walking behind him. Look close in the painting and you can see his horseshoe left behind in time. Now the pheasant is gleaning the edges of the old cornfield for that leftover piece of grain to sustain him through a cold night. While painting this scene and others, I often like to tell a story-- a hallmark of my style."
