"This owl usually hatches a clutch somewhere between three to seven eggs, but can sometimes raise as many as eight or nine although that would be the exception and not likely. When I envisioned this painting, I wanted to show a mother owl with a full house of little owlets with all the charm and busy activity of each one. She had so many children, she didn't know what to do."
