"The Carolina wren is such a charming little bird--my favorite of all the wrens. One sunny afternoon when I entered my garden shed, Carolina wren flew out the open doorway. I noticed nest material near a flower pot and realized it had perhaps chosen this shed for its spring housekeeping. This painting was "born" at that moment. I had only to observe and record. Beautiful settings and stories for my paintings are right in front of my eyes-- one only has to "see."
