"I see white-tailed deer almost every day where I live. Once for six or seven months, my husband and I spent everyday in the forest in a blind studying white-tails, photographing, sketching and noting the behavior and interaction between them. I love the deep forest and especially love the quiet hush and softening of it when all is covered with snow. Imagine the last glow of pink light in the sky, the buck ever alert to the sounds and smells. The doe alert to the buck and his attitudes. The total peacefulness and solitude they share in this deep woods refuge. I wanted to try and paint all these feelings and have you feel as if you are in their snowy world."
