"Could anything be more exciting than to see a magnificent bull moose in the north woods? Not likely for most people to see. But perhaps with a painting such as this, people can enjoy the beauty of this wonderful animal. The red squirrel, no matter his size, will announce to the woodland this encounter with the moose, as though he could make a difference in the route this giant will take. I've seen the moose in Maine, and I am in awe of this largest inhabitant of the northern forest."
