"In my area of the country the black bear has become very numerous and a bit controversial. Some folks love to see this animal and others don't enjoy the close contact. Personally I always get a thrill to see this gentle giant. I came upon a yearling bear in my stream recently and was able to watch for a time while it found itself a crawfish among the rocks. I imagined a family gathering to play and forage for food-- an artist's creation-- and the Bear Creek Gang was born!"
